What will you do?

Wisdom Service and the Laboratory Operations team work hand in hand to analyze, plan, organize and respond to requests, incidents and projects relating to laboratory PC’s and instrumentation as well as evaluate incoming requests, make recommendations on PC hardware, upgrade PCs where necessary and finally to deploy the PC itself with standard (LABO) Unity image primarily, and in some cases on stand alone or vendor provided computers.  Additionally other duties may be assigned as needed.  

What do you need to succeed?

The role will focus on the relationship and delivery perspectives of lab PC operations, keeping the Wisdom 2.0 provider in sync with needs and requests from the lab team, to coordinate basic Unity imaging for lab PC’s that need deployed, and to ensure dispatch services are available to assemble PC’s at unstaffed sites and are ready for the lab team to remotely configure and deploy lab equipment.

This role acts transversally to keep the Wisdom provider informed about emerging lab issues and projects and as well to keep the existing lab technicians and staff informed on changes coming to the imaging system and environment, ticketing system processes and focuses on keeping lab topic tickets and requests updated in ITSM tool and keeping the team using standard practices and ways of working related to ITSM tooling and Wisdom processes.

Day to day, this position will be responsible for sharing with the regional OSS population any specific processes relating to lab image, imaging and support, coaching through troubleshooting on lab requests & incidents, and will perform incident and request work during times when coordination and coaching is not required. Travel may be required during times of lab conversion and upgrade or during urgent widespread incidents needing immediate attention. This role will coordinate lab deployments of new systems and drive progress of dispatch technicians, OSS, global technical streams, and others.
