We are looking for a Project Manager to oversee the Part Return and Warranty project or a multi-national client in Auburn Hills. This project will replace six legacy applications with multiple upstream and downstream interfaces. The Project Manager will be responsible for aligning timelines and deliverables from all interfaces to the overall project plan. Company is executing a business process redesign project in the Quality area to replace 6 legacy applications with a single system and integrated end to end process. As part of this project we will need to communicate to and train thousands of internal, supplier, and dealer users. Due to the diversity of stakeholders, we would like to add a Project Manager to provide project governance and oversight.
Project Manager (PM) is responsible for delivering projects on time and within budget. PMs are responsible for significant, cross-functional projects, highly visible and strategic with large budgets. The PM is focused on meeting project commitments, including communications with sponsors and stakeholders and is responsible for delivering all PM assets throughout the entire project lifecycle (intake to closeout). The PM runs the project management activities on a day-to-day basis working with technical staff, development teams, business and IT stakeholders, IT operations and 3rd party vendors all of which may be across regions. They lead the business and IT project owners through the SDLC using formal project management methods and templates. Additionally, the PM is responsible for planning, directing, controlling, structuring, and motivating the project; responsible for identifying and documenting project lessons learned and satisfying the project requirements.
●Lead the project management function for the successful implementation of business solutions or ICT projects.
●Support Build and Run teams in the documentation of 1 page project overviews for business case development consideration.
●Assess the project complexity, level of visibility, funding requirements and other project influences to drive key SDLC decisions (prioritization, business case development, approval process, development & testing methodology) to deliver the best solution.
●Provide program and/or project management services to a project.
●Develop and communicate effectively all project management assets to both business and ICT stakeholders throughout the entire SDLC cycle, managing change controls and proactively identifying, escalating and participating in risk mitigation plans.
●Harmonizes PM methodologies and tools from third party and external service providers for projects they are assigned.
●Holds peers accountable for their deliverables and due dates.
●Provides leadership in PM best practices while continuing to be highly customer focused.
●Monitors the effectiveness of PM tools and processes and continually makes improvement recommendations to the methods, standards and framework for the organization through a Community of Practice.
●Facilitate the definition of project missions, goals, tasks, budget and resource requirements
●Resolve or assist in the resolution of conflicts within and between projects or functional areas.
●Develop methods to monitor project or area progress; and provide corrective supervision if necessary.
●Lead SCRUM sessions with the development team to ensure requirements are complete and actionable
●Facilitate the definition of project charter, scope/objectives, status, schedule, resource requirements, and risks.
●Risk management, tracking dependencies and milestones, disciplined change control processes.
●Resolve or assist in the resolution of conflicts within and between projects or functional areas
●Develop methods to monitor project or area progress and provide corrective supervision if necessary.
Knowledge / Work Experience:
●10 years’ experience managing large IT projects with many dependencies
●Experience managing Agile SCRUM projects
●Experience with connectors and system interfaces
●Thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management discipline.
●Ability to tie the PM discipline practically to various SDLC methodologies.
●Thorough understanding of project plans, risk plans, issue logs and their application.
●Thorough understanding of project management phases, techniques and tools.
●Knowledge of PMP/PMI framework and book of knowledge.
●Initiation: Processes to explore an idea, concept, or business need, create a Project Charter, and obtain approval to proceed to planning.
●Planning: Processes performed to define and mature the project scope, develop the project management plan, and identify and schedule the project activities that occur within the project.
●Execution: Processes performed to complete the work defined in the project management plan to accomplish the project's objectives defined in the project scope statement.
●Controlling: Processes for comparing actual performance with planned performance, analyzing variances, assessing trends to affect process improvements, evaluating possible alternatives, and recommending appropriate corrective action, as needed.
●Closure: Processes performed to formally terminate all activities of a project or phase, and transfer the completed project to other or close a cancelled project
