Payroll Specialist II

Job Responsibilities:

  • Compute employee earnings
  • Compile departmental payrolls and record payroll deductions
  • May prepare payroll reports for distribution
  • May prepare required filings
  • Handle employee inquires
  • Send payroll for transmission

Skills, Licenses, Knowledge, Education and Training Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3-5 years’ experience
  • Good organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of payroll operations
  • Strong knowledge of Federal, State and Local laws
  • Strong experience working with PeopleSoft and ADP Software
  • Experience processing garnishments and support orders
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work with and maintain confidential records
  • Attendance and schedule adherence are requirements of this position
  • May require additional project-specific training

  • May adapt procedures, operations, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment to meet needs of area of specialization
  • May work on non-routine tasks
