The LabVIEW team plays an important role in developing and supporting software applications for URC’s Geosciences and Engineering research projects. The LabVIEW Programmer will be primarily involved in writing, maintaining, debugging and modifying code for new or existing equipment in the laboratory.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
3-5 years of progressive LabVIEW development experience
National Instruments Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD) qualification
Experience with NI Data Acquisition systems PXI/SCXI/ cDAQ/ cRIO
Understanding of common communication protocols, internet protocols and working experience with general test data acquisition, control, sensor hardware – DAQmx, Serial, TCP/IP, DDE, CAN, Ethernet etc.
Strong knowledge of LabVIEW Advanced architectures
Master’s degree in Engineering or Science. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
5+ years of LabVIEW development experience.
National Instruments Certified LabVIEW Architect (CLA) qualification
Experience in LabVIEW Object Oriented Design
Experience in Actor Framework is highly preferred
Experience in LabVIEW Real-time/ FPGA is desired
Familiarity with other programming languages like C, C# etc. or with LabWare is desired
Design, Develop and maintain applications on NI LabVIEW platform.
Interface and Test wide range of industrial sensors, transducers, etc. with NI or third-party hardware and control of machinery like pumps, motors, cameras etc.
Develop intuitive Graphical User Interfaces
Collaborate/ coordinate with lab researchers, engineers and technicians to collect business requirements and develop a project plan
Implement unit test cases and fully integrated tests for LabVIEW application
Manage code in repository and adapt source code control techniques
Work in a fast-paced team environment
Follow Agile as well as Waterfall methodologies in projects as and when required
Adhere to company’s standard practices for LabVIEW development.
