Overview:
  • Analyst III in Brooklyn, NY
  • 2 month contract
Responsibilities:
  • Create and update data models in HANA and develop both interactive dashboards and end user standard reports using the SAP Business Objects toolset 
  • Work with the business and engagement leads where required to refine user and functional requirements to identify any gaps in request made and technical capability 
  • Compile and produce financial performance reports ensuring reporting is relevant, timely, accurate and compliant to US GAAP and IFRS 
  • Partner with customers for timely delivery of standard reports and ensure proper support to meet financial and non-financial controls 
  • Responsible for monitoring and identifying risks / issues and overseeing change impacts 
  • Partners with customers to make updates to reports and reporting tools, implement report rationalization, and conduct parallel-run / dry-run activities as needed 
  • Test all new or changed reports / data models for accuracy and consistency before testing by the requester of final reports / outputs to verify the integrity of information made available to the business 
  • Development of appropriate documentation to support all data models built 
  • Maintain service catalogue and report inventory 
Requirements:
Knowledge and Experience: 
  • Business Intelligence Systems and tools 
  • Good understanding of data analysis, data mapping and process mapping 
  • Standard and ad hoc report creation 
  • Data mining 
  • General and technical accounting knowledge 
  • System implementation 
  • Utility industry accounting 
  • US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, and IFRS 
  • Process Management 
  • Month-end close processes 
  • Risk mitigation 
Qualifications Required: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in MIS or financial discipline 
  • Ideally BI development qualification in SAP BO toolset or equivalent experience 
  • Experience working with accounting / finance systems and general ledgers 
  • Knowledge of finance processes and terminology 
  • Technical and functional proficiency in finance modules 
  • Project management and problem solving skills 
  • Effective collaboration and partnership capabilities 
  • Manage competing priorities and meet deadlines 
  • Excellent written / oral communication skills and follow-up
